Thank you to all those who joined us for our Parents Evening discussion on Numeracy and Literacy. We thought it went really well with great discussions and ideas being shared.
We would like to invite you all to a presentation on Numeracy and Literacy at Tiptoes on Thursday 9 November at 6.00pm. Maths surrounds us in everyday life and yet we tend to think that we have no immediate connection with the subject. We will explore how to recognise this, and how to engage with and nurture young children in our care, to connect with Mathematics in ways that make sense to them in their daily life. We hope you will find this evening interesting and useful as we will be speaking about how children in our care are experiencing maths and language and how we are supporting and nurturing this for each of them.
This just in... Tip Toes has just successfully been granted ECO School Green Flag Status. Please read the report findings below. Thank you to all who helped with this project, including the great ECO day turn out from our parents who helped redevelop our garden space. We can't wait to receive our Green Flag and hope that you'll join us in its unveiling #tiptoes
Tiptoes has successfully completed the Wrigley Litter Less Campaign 2016-17, receiving our certificate as shown below. Irene Steel, Education Support Officer said "The feedback from your school in this year's campaign has been very impressive and valuable. I hope that the campaign has encouraged you to consider developing the litter/waste topic and spreading the litter awareness message beyond the school gate".
The excitement is starting to creep in among the Tiptoes team. We have been short listed, and into the final 5 "Best individual Nurseries in Scotland" category. The award ceremony takes place on the 1 September 2017 and is being held in The Hilton Glasgow Hilton Hotel. If anything, it's an excuse to come together as a team and enjoy each others company throughout the proceedings. #tiptoes
A huge thank you to all our wonderful families, for making our "Rites of Passage" celebration on the 22 July 2017, a great one. A rainy day welcomed us for our gathering, we enjoyed the puddles and the sound of pitter patter from the rain, falling on to our water proofs as Dr.Seuss "Oh the Places you'll go" was read out, to start of the celebrations. The perfect atmosphere was set, the BBQ got in to full swing, nibbles laid out on the table, great conversation ensued with lot's of reflection of our Children's adventures.
Sadly, we will be bidding farewell to some of our children who will be moving on to Primary School from the next Academic term. We would like to give them a warm send off and wish them well in the coming years. We would like to invite all our families to a Barbecue.
Date - Saturday 22 July
Time - 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
We would like to say goodbye to those families that will be moving onto pastures new with new Primary Schools and thank you all for all your support through the year. Please can you drop us a note to let us know if you are able to make it at firstname.lastname@example.org
Look forward to seeing you all there.
